Detect Ansi PPE v1.3
A MPP Production 1996
Marcus Holmes
Summary:
Basically this is a very small ppe that will automatically
force the caller into ansi mode without asking the user if
they want graphics or not. This is useful if you run more
than one node and one node is just for paying callers who
already have ansi capabilites. It is also useful for those
users who use scripts to call boards to download new QWK
packets etc.
Directions:
Run install.com. ;)
OR you can do it the long way:
Basically just copy the
PPE to any directory of your choosing, for example:
C:\PCB\DETECT
In the \DETECT directory you would store detect.ppe.
Then, in go into your PCBOARD directory and type, MKPCBTXT.
Edit record number 149. To do this type F3, then 149.
Replace the default prompt with this line:
!C:\PCB\DETECT\DETECT.ANS _
Of course, your directory will be different, this is just an
example. The underscore "_" is very important. Don't forget to
put it in ;)
Just exit MKPCBTXT and it will save automatically, and the
installation is complete! Or of course, just run INSTALL.COM
that came with this ppe.
Disclaimer:
Basically I don't guarantee anything. I used this on my
own board and it seemed to work without any real problems.
It isn't that complicated of a ppe, but I don't guarantee
anything. It is your responsibility to use this program,
and anything that happens to your computer, yourself, or
anything else is your fault, not mine ;)
Registration:
Guess what, this is free! But as always, if you would like
to help out, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
With a donation will you not only be helping to pay for that
summer home in the Bahamas (just kidding), but you will
receive a personalized edition of DETECT! To receive your
free registered version of DETECT, just email me at:
magician@francenet.fr requesting the latest copy.
My Board:
